Hi, I’m Erin.
A Holistic Wellness Practitioner, I am a Nutrition Educator, Real Food Advocate, Therapeutic Touch Practitioner, Reiki Master and Angel Card Reader offering intuitive guidance, I am also mom to two amazing boys. A proponent for holistic and natural living, my passion is guiding people to live healthier, happier lives: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
A graduate of the Richard Ivey School of Business; Canada's top business school, I have also studied: nutrition, aromatherapy, reiki, muscle testing, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique, also referred to as "tapping"), therapeutic touch, Qigong and other forms of energy medicine.
I always felt called to be a healer and I come from a lineage of healers. Someone thanked me recently (summer 2016) for "making it my profession and life purpose to try to help others"... and a few weeks later when I got my hands on a deck of "Life Purpose Oracle Cards" by Doreen Virtue, this card on the right is the card that I pulled. (How appropriate!)
My study in natural wellness began in 2009: after several months of pain in my colon area and other unpleasant and painful digestive symptoms, which culminated in an unpleasant operation to drain a (painful) fistula in my butt, I was told that my “symptoms were consistent with Crohns”. The doctor wanted to put me on prednisone at that time, which is a steroid drug. Knowing that it would cause other issues (ie. the many possible side effects, not to mention that prescription drugs rob us of vitamins and minerals that our body needs), I said no to the doctor's recommendation, and chose to make changes to my diet instead. The doctor tried to protest “but this is very exclusive…”. I shrugged and said Oh Well.
That “exclusive” diet was worth it, because I got my health back. I have been symptom free since then, and haven’t needed to see the gastroenterologist either (although he was very nice and I would recommend him). And my diet is now much less “exclusive”.
Also in that time, I have read through many books, blogs and Facebook Groups (and continue to do so every day) on various topics of health and nutrition from the various perspectives and on the various diets (low fat raw vegan, high fat raw vegan, standard vegan, vegetarian, grain free, gluten free, Paleo, Paleo AIP, Keto, WAP, GAPS, SCD...) and I have personally tried most of these myself (I ate low fat raw vegan for about 2 years... but I don't recommend that at all to anyone for the long term: we truly do need healthy fat in our diet!) I've also been known to make a magically healing SCD-compliant yogurt. I continue to regularly consult with various MDs, naturopaths, nutritionists, and other holistic professionals.
More recently (2015-2016), I weaned myself off of synthroid which I had been taking for hypothyroid (hashimotos) for about 15 years. (I did this with the help/input of a holistic MD, an endocrinologist, a homeopath, and an intuitive aromatherapist combined with my own research).
So I know first hand the harmful effects of conventional life and I understand the importance of diet and the powerful link between nutrition and health.
If you are ready to make changes for your health, I am here to help. Call me.
